Ingredients
- 2 Quarts of Cider
- 2 Cups of Pineapple Juice
- 1 Cup of Cranberry Juice
- 1 Cup of Orange Juice
- 1 Cup of Lemon Juice
- 3 of Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 tbsp of Cloves
Instructions
Designed to add a lot of kick to your meal without sacrificing taste, the hot rum punch recipe is another popular way to add a significant amount of flavor to your meal without a great deal of extra effort.
Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum
All of the above ingredients should be placed in a crock pot and heated until hot (but not burning – this can be anywhere from 3-5 hours). Once ready, pour into a glass with 1 shot of rum. Tastes best when warm.
A Simple Creation with a Complex Taste
All of the fruits involved in making the hot rum punch give it an extra complex flavor with a lot of kick. Depending on the degree of consumption you and your party would like to partake in, the ingredients are very forgiving of extra alcohol, so adding a little more spiced rum to each glass is not unheard of.
For those that are less fond of Captain Morgan’s, other light rums tend to go along with the recipe equally well. While this popular alcoholic punch recipe is clearly a night time drink (as are most warm punches), the beverage itself is much more of a party beverage than a drink for a relaxing gathering, but depending on the additional foods that are served (especially if there are fruit platters and other complementary tastes) it can still be served with other meals.
Generally, however, the Hot Rum Punch is designed to be a powerful tasting drink with a good amount of kick and can warm the body and keep the party going. It is not too difficult to make for the punch beginner, and because it has cranberry juice, you can always make the slightly dubious claim that it is healthy as well.
